Holding Space Through Transition
We are all constantly changing, navigating transition, becoming more or less of who we are. This is the nature of life: to begin as one thing and become another, to start as one thing and end up something different altogether—over and over and over.
Tending Becomings is a project of care—created by Myles (they/he)—rooted in offering support to people navigating transitions of birth, death and the space between—especially marginalized folks who have been historically and intentionally excluded from care spaces and services. Through this project I offer nonmedical emotional, educational, practical and physical support as a doula to folks experiencing a transition. I also make zines that are available to download for free (digital) or buy (physical copy).
My offerings are open to everyone but center and prioritize Queer and Trans Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (QTBIPOC), as well as other marginalized communities.
Check out How To Create a Care Tree, a workbook zine for care planning, exploring your needs, and creating ideas of support you could use. Sliding scale physical copies; free to download.
About Myles (they/he)
Hi, I’m Myles (they/he)! I am a trans nonbinary, queer, mixed Black and white, and neurodivergent writer, artist, and care companion based in the Bay Area. I am in awe of the way humans change, stretch, grow, collapse, gather, grieve, and become. I believe deeply in the power of community care as a salve to the systems of oppression we continuously survive.
